It's the Domestic Thing Again!
Yep, you heard me right. Last night I cut the front yard! What has gotten into me? I actually felt like doing yard work. D was with my parents, H & S were at church, and M was working at the shop. I cleaned house and cut the yard. WOW! I am so proud of myself! I don't know what this new phase it, but I'm kind of alright with it. I actually feel productive.
Hopefully soccer practice will get rained out this afternoon. It's been rainly fairly steadily since late last night. I'm sorry, but I just really do not feel like sitting out there for 2 1/2 hours. Maybe the games on Saturday will get cancelled too! Actually I won't be going to them anyway because of our garage sale, which I happened to find more things to get rid of while I was cleaning last night. Anything that doesn't sell, I am just going to donate to Goodwill because I do not want any of it back! I went through the kids rooms too and pulled out everything that I haven't seen them play with in the last year. I figured it wasn't that important to them if they don't want to play with it anymore. Tonight I'm going through our closet and the two hall closests. After that, I am DONE! Oh yeah, I've got to get the stuff out of our storage too. That won't be too bad because I've already gone through it all. All I need to do is load it into my SUV.
And... If you are wondering about last night... it went well. H is still alive and doing good. I cooled off by the time I left work, so we were able to talk it out before he left for church. Tonight he has to sit down with me and his daddy and go over it all again. I know it's just his age, but he still has to have respect and follow the rules. I cannot let him think that it is fine for him to just do whatever he pleases regardless of what anyone says. Agree?

MAJOR Suckage!
The next to last words to H out of my mouth this morning were "Don't take anything to school that could get you in trouble." He replied back with a "yes ma'am, I love you." Well, I got a phone call from his teacher a few hours ago. It seems he packed almost everything possible from his birthday and took it to school today. She told me that she was going to put it all in a bag and send it home. I told her "no, we are going to make him "throw it away" and I'll pick it up from you later this week. She did. H called me after school, as always, to tell me the nerve his teacher had for making him throw his things away. I told him that I already knew about it and that he was in trouble for taking it all to school. Especially since he could repeat back to me verbatim what I told him before I left. So, needless to say, he is being a cry-baby right now. Do I care? Of course I do. I care deeply. I promise that it is harder for me than it is for him. But he's got to remember to respect what I ask him to do and to follow the rules at school. His excuse for everything is that he cannot remember or he forgot. But I cannot reason with him on this because the only time he uses those excuses are when he thinks that I'm upset... like it's going to make me feel sorry for him. My only problem is that I don't know what to do to punish him because we had so much planned for this weekend. Is it enough for him to think that he lost his presents? I am at a loss because he never really gets into trouble. I think that I'm just going to let him think that they're gone and I'm not going to let him keep his money from the garage sale until he can prove to be more responsible.

Yesterday
H's birthday was very good yesterday. He got a lot of money (what he wanted most). It is burning a hole in his pocket, though. We are having a garage sale this weekend so he will have even more money to put with it (he and S get to keep what they make off of their things). I am so glad to be getting rid of "stuff" that we just don't use or like anymore, but now my house is all cluttered with boxes to put the things in that I come across to get rid of. Well, got to go for now.

Happy 10th Birthday, Baby!
Last night we had the BEST meal I have ever eaten. M made cajun salmon, garlic herb shrimp, garlic mashed potatos, and asiago cheese bread. I was soooooooooo good. Seafood is my absolute favorite and I am very picky about it. Needless to say, M has mastered the art when it comes to preparing seafood!!

Whew...
I have had the busiest day today. It doesn't seem like it is already 2:15PM. I am putting together the largest tradeshow here at the base. I've been the only one working on it since December 06. Others are supposed to help, but you know how that goes... no help, just around for the credit at the end. Oh well. I am so ready for this to be over... only 3 more weeks until the "big day."
I'm still in the process of cleaning out our house. I am getting rid of some much stuff.... toys, clothes, decorations, holiday items. I guess now I will have an excuse to buy all new stuff! Yeah for me.
H's birthday is on Tuesday. He will be 10. He is so excited, yet he cannot make up his mind what to do, so the party that was supposed to take place this weekend will probably have to be postponed because I cannot throw something awesome together in 2 days!
Any suggestions on what will completely wow a 10 year old boy?

My First Time
I am becoming totally domesticated. Yesterday, I picked weeds and worked on the yard, for the FIRST TIME EVER. I cannot say that I love it, but I actually enjoyed it. S and D played outside while I was working, and we all really had a good time. Sometime this week (after I de-weed the flower beds) S and I are going to plant flowers. We are so excited.
In addition to this work, we also completely cleaned out the back yard and our back porch. I guess I shouldn't say completely because we still have a few small things to get rid of that are stored on the back porch. But as for now, at least we can get out into the back yard. Thank God for that because that's where I really want the kids to be playing. I hate it when they play out front.
Spring break was very good and eventful even though we didn't take a vacation of anything this year. It was nice to just kick back and get some things done that we've been wanting to do. Now, I just need to go through a few things for our garage sale and then I can relax on the house for a few months!

Spring Break, Day 4
Last night we went to eat at The Feed Lot for my sil's birthday. It was great... great food and great conversation. I really love having them here!
Today the kiddos are just chillin with their Granny, getting ready for their busy weekend. Beginning tonight they have company through Sunday! Holy crap, what did I get myself into? I guess I'll have to wait to see.
Oh yeah, D's appt yesterday... Went well. He did good and so far it looks as if his eyes are perfect!
I, on the other hand, had my eye exam this morning. Well, after 26 years, I am going to need to get contacts. Totally suck? You bet. I couldn't even get an appt until the 28th to be fitted for them. Why didn't they just do it then? He said that it would be a really quick, easy thing. Who knows? I sure don't.
But anyway, not much else going on. Mommy is keeping D this weekend so that we can go through the rest of our stuff and get it all organized. Fun, fun, fun!

Spring Break, Day 3
Last night the kiddos and I sat down and watch The Phantom of the Opera. My all time favorite! I have loved it ever since I went to Paris to see it. H fell asleep, but S watched the whole thing. It made her cry. It was so sweet.
Today they had hair appointments. S just called me to tell me that she got it cut off (with my permission, of course) and she loves it even more than she thought that she would. I cannot wait until I get home so that I can see it. H said that he got his cut the way he wanted it. I don't know what that means, and honestly I'm a little nervous about seeing his because he is going through this weird tween thing right now. By anyway...
D has his first eye exam this afternoon. I am nervous for him because I don't know what they will do or what he will think about it. I guess we'll just have to see!
Until tomorrow...

Spring Break, Day 2
To finish yesterday...
S and her little girl friend ended up going to the mountains. They had such a good time. She ended up staying the night over there.
H's friend couldn't stay last night because today is DC's birthday.
OK...
Day 2...
I'm at work. M is at work, H is with him. S is still with her friends. D is with my mommy.
Exciting!!!

Spring Break, Day 1
Spring break begins!
It's 10AM... S is gone for the day with a friend, D just woke up and is eating breakfast, and H is hanging out until he gets a call back about whether or not his best friend can come over.
They got all of their spring cleaning done in their rooms over the weekend, so they have nothing to do this week except HAVE FUN! We have a room full of stuff that we are either selling at our garage sale or donating. That's just the kids' stuff so far. I haven't gone through our room or our storage sheds yet. We are going to have so much stuff!
Well, as I said, it's on 10AM so not much has happened. I'll catch you up later. But here are some pictures that I finally got off of my camera.
So, I'll wear a bucket on my head now.
Because I am SOOOOOOOO funny!
And messy!
Yes, Mommy took this while we were DRIVING down the road.
Watching Daddy work.
I think I'll help now.

TGIF
S's school musical was last night, and it was AWESOME! She did so good. We bought a video of it. It was only 5 dollars. I cannot believe that it was so cheap. I will gladly pay that just so I don't have to take my camcorder and film it.
I picked up her Girl Scout cookies yesterday and we divided them all up last night. Hopefully we can get them all delieved by mid next week. Tomorrow we have 4 hours of mother/daughter cookies sales outside of one of our local stores. WOW! I don't know how I'm just going to sit there. Mom's aren't supposed to do anything other than just watch out for the girls. I know they'll be able to sell a lot more.
Spring break is next week. I didn't take off for the whole week, but we do have some plans for the kids. We are leaving on Friday to go out of town. It's a surprise for them, but I know that they will love it. I cannot believe it is already spring break... it's doesn't seem that long ago that they were having spring break last year. It's amazing how the older you get, the faster time goes by. What is up with that?
I hope I remember to set our clocks this weekend for daylight savings time. Losing an hour of sleep is the last thing that I need to do. I hope I'm able to make it up for church on Sunday!
I really need to get my pictures downloaded to my computer so that I can post some new ones. I haven't done that in a week or so. I've probably got about 200+ that I'm going to have to go through. I am a picture taking lover. I love taking pictures and I print out every single one of them. We have so many photo albums at our house that I'm going to need to add on just to have a place to store them all!
Work is going great even though we are at a slow point in the year. Luckily I'm the project officer for the big show that we put on out here so that's been keeping me pretty busy since December. It's gets more stressful the closer it gets, but after 10 April, it will all be over.
I guess that's it for today. I really will try to get my pictures ready to post on here next week.

It All Begins... Again
It's that time of year when everything starts up again. Well, actually just soccer. Everything else is year-round. Soccer is 3 days out of each week, for hours on each of those days. I'm not complaining about the kids playing or being there with them, but we hardly have time for anything else in the evenings. That's alright though, because I wouldn't miss these special times for anything in the world. You can never replace these memories if you miss them!
S has a school program this week and she is so excited about it! She has been practicing for over a month for it. She is going to be great! I cannot wait until it's time for the big show.
H is doing awesome in school. He is finally getting over some of his anxiety and getting out there and going for everything. He was even in the spelling bee! I am so proud of him. We have been hanging out a lot together lately. I asked him if something was bothering him and he said "no, I'm just so proud that you are my mama and I want to spend all of my time with you." How sweet is that? He spent all day Saturday with M working on a restoration. I cannot believe that a 9 year old (oh, excuse me he is almost 10... and he does NOT let you forget that) can do so much. Speaking of him almost turning 10... since he is so excited about being in the double digits, we are throwing a HUGE birthday bash for him. I cannot wait. He knows what some of it is, but a lot of it is going to be a surprise. I cannot wait to see his face when he sees everything. And of course, since he is now in the "double digits" everything changes. He simply cannot have little baby toys anymore. His wish list consists of 4-Wheeler, a real bow and arrow, a paint ball gun, a horse, a pair of ridiculously expensive shoes, the few remaining sets of Exoforce that he does not already have, and I forget what else... I'll have to look at my four page list. He is getting most of that, but of course he doesn't know it.
D is doing great... as usual! He is growing and learning so much every day. There is not enough words to express what I feel about him. He is the most beautiful baby boy in the world! He is so smart, maybe too smart for his own good! Have I mentioned yet about him jumping off of furniture, his step stool, his chair, his table, anything he can climb on? Well, he can and he does. I scares the sh*t out of us everytime he does it, but he just laughs as if it the funniest thing he has ever done. He is fearless, and I'm not exactly sure it's a good thin,g.
Speaking of babies, what does yours like to eat? I cannot seam to get enough vegetables into D. He will mac and cheese, nutrigrain bars, crackers, and beef. I cannot really get him to eat much else. Sometimes he eats eggs and sausage, but we don't make that very often. Oh, yeah he also eats cooked carrots. I've heard to try string cheese, but is he really old enough for that yet? He has 12 teeth, but can he really chew it up good? Let me know if you have any suggestions.

He's A Genius!

He is looking under my NEW truck for Pixie (the dog).
See... he can race cars and color with chalk... all at the same time!
Yes, I got a new truck. It's not new as in 2007 new... it's new as in it is new to me owning it. It is a 2001 Chev Suburban fully loaded out to the max. Do I totally love it? Hell yes I love it. As long as it doesn't make me part of the soccer mom mini-van club then I'll be ok. I am still part of the soccer mom club, but I detest having anything to do with a mini-van. I'll try to get some better pictures of it. The kids love it because they can actually run around inside of it. Maybe not H because he is too big, but definitely D and S.
