Why are some people such freakin idiots?

I was in an accident here on base on 11 June. Some kid ran into me at the post office. I thought that it would be open/shut because it was obvious what happened. Um, no. Instead he says that I hit him. And to top it off, the police summary that I just received that I ADMITTED that I hit him because I couldn't see him. WTF???!!! I am in the process of disputing this because it is completely inaccurate. I'll let you know the outcome.

We (actually H) took apart D's baby bed on Friday night. Was I ready for this? NO... NOT AT ALL! There was not a part of me that was ready to do this. I want to cry about it everytime I think about it. It sucks! Anyway, D has been sleeping in his toddler bed for 3 nights now. The thing is that now you have to rock him until he is COMPLETELY asleep, keep rocking him for about 5 minutes after that, and then put him into bed. He can get out of his bed and OPEN his door. He has been found butt naked in our room, running the bath water in the main bathroom (all the way on the other side of the house), and hanging out in the living room this morning. M says that we needed to move him before he fell out of his baby bed... well I think that this is so much more dangerous. We are going to have to put baby gates on both of his doors... yes he has one door leading into each part of the house. That is the only safe way to keep him contained. I cannot just let him wonder around the house. I knew it was a mistake to get rid of the crib. I wasn't ready, he wasn't ready. But I kept my mouth shut so I wouldn't appear to bed an incompetent mother. NEVER AGAIN!

I absolutely hate when my kids moved from crib to toddler bed. Do any kids stay in their beds??
The gate sounds like a good idea. Good luck!!

I had no problem with this milestone.

We did, however, put one of those doorknob covers on the inside of Luke's bedroom door. Every once in a while we would hear him calling, "let me out!"

If I wait until I'm ready for Little A to not sleep in her crib, she's going to be one pissed off teenager.

"Mom, I know for a fact that all of my friends are sleeping in beds"

Do what you know in your heart is right, no matter what anyone else says.

My parents had the same thing happen to them after an accident in a parking lot. They're still fighting it after 6 mos, I hope you have better luck!

I think I'm keeping our crib forever. I can't imagine my son having free reign.
